Terms of use

The terms on which you can use auditor.ltd: who publishes it, what its figures are and are not, how quote requests work, and the law that applies.

Last updated 1 October 2026. By using the site or sending a request through it you accept these terms.

Who we are

auditor.ltd is published by Benford Technologies Limited, registered in England and Wales with company number 17325156, 5 Southampton Place, London WC1A 2DA. Benford Technologies Limited is part of the Benford group, which also includes Benford Revisjon AS (org. no. 838 070 442), an audit firm authorised by Finanstilsynet in Norway. Write to privacy@benford.tech or use the contact form.

What the site is

auditor.ltd compares audit fees and auditor appointments using accounts and records filed with Companies House in the United Kingdom and Brønnøysundregistrene in Norway. The figures are aggregates over groups of companies, computed by machine, as at the date shown on each page. They are information. They are not audit, accounting, legal, tax or investment advice, and nothing on the site is an offer to provide audit services.

How far you can rely on the figures

The figures are only as good as the filings they come from and our processing of them. They can be incomplete or wrong, and they change when the data is refreshed. We do not promise that any figure is accurate, complete or current. Check anything you intend to rely on against the filings themselves. If you find a mistake, tell us through the contact form and we will look at it.

Audit firms named on the site

Firms are named because the registers name them. Their names and logos belong to them and are shown only to identify the firm. Showing a firm does not mean the firm endorses the site, and no order or ranking on the site is a recommendation of one firm over another. A firm's description summarises what the firm says on its own website. A firm that finds anything about itself wrong can ask us to correct it through the contact form.

Asking for quotes

Asking for quotes is free and creates no obligation. We put forward audit firms that may fit your company; whether to engage any of them is your decision. Any engagement is between you and the firm you choose, on that firm's terms. We are not a party to it and are not responsible for the firm's work. Because the Benford group includes Benford Revisjon AS, that firm can be among those put forward to a Norwegian company. How we handle the details you send is set out in the privacy notice.

Using the site and its data

You may read, quote and link to the site. The data tables on the open data page are licensed under CC BY 4.0; credit auditor.ltd when you use them. Do not collect pages from the site automatically at a rate that burdens it, and do not present its figures as your own work.

The site contains public sector information from Companies House licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0, and data from Brønnøysundregistrene used under the Norwegian Licence for Open Government Data (NLOD) 2.0.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that the law does not allow to be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence and for fraud. Otherwise, the site is provided free of charge and as it is, and we are not liable for any loss that arises from relying on its figures or from the work of a firm you engage after using it.

Changes and the law that applies

We may change these terms; the date at the top changes with them. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. This does not take away any protection that the mandatory law of the country where you live gives you.

Figures are indicative. They are computed from a sample of accounts filed with Companies House and the Norwegian register, read by machine, and are only as good as those filings; they can contain mistakes, and the dataset is not exhaustive. Found a mistake? Report it through the contact form.
